Site Reliability Engineer – Observability

Join Mirai Arabian International Company Limited as a Site Reliability Engineer – Observability, based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site position for an experienced engineer committed to building and maintaining world-class observability infrastructure that powers reliable systems at scale.

What This Role Involves

As our Site Reliability Engineer focused on Observability, you'll architect, implement, and evolve the monitoring, logging, and analytics systems that give our teams deep visibility into production environments. You'll work across the full stack—from infrastructure metrics to application-level tracing—ensuring every critical system emits the signals our engineers need to respond quickly to incidents, optimize performance, and prevent problems before they impact users.

Core Duties

• Design and deploy observability solutions using industry-standard tools and platforms to capture metrics, logs, traces, and events from distributed systems.
• Develop dashboards, alerting strategies, and runbooks that enable rapid detection and diagnosis of production issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to instrument applications and infrastructure, embedding observability best practices into the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot complex observability challenges—data pipeline failures, metric accuracy issues, alert fatigue—and implement lasting solutions.
• Optimize observability infrastructure for cost, performance, and retention, managing data storage and processing pipelines efficiently.
• Document observability practices, maintain runbooks, and mentor other engineers on effective monitoring and alerting patterns.

Requirements

• Proven experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, or equivalent).
• Strong foundation in systems administration, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), and Linux environments.
• Demonstrated ability to write and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes manifests.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts, including tracing, metrics collection, and log aggregation.
• Programming or scripting proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages to automate observability workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical challenges into clear, actionable insights.
