Elementary PHE Teacher

Vtt is seeking a dedicated Elementary PHE Teacher to inspire and develop physical literacy and wellbeing in young learners across grades K–6 in Vancouver, BC. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape students' lifelong attitudes toward movement, sport, and healthy living.

About This Position

As an Elementary PHE Teacher at Vtt in Vancouver, you will lead engaging physical education programming that builds confidence, coordination, and teamwork among elementary school students. You'll design inclusive lessons that meet learners of all abilities and backgrounds, fostering both skill development and a genuine love of physical activity. This role combines classroom instruction, activity supervision, and curriculum planning to create a comprehensive physical education experience that supports students' overall health and development.

Core Duties

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons aligned with provincial curriculum standards
• Assess student progress in motor skills, fitness, and understanding of healthy practices
• Organize and supervise school sports events, athletic teams, or recreational programs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to integrate wellness and active living into the wider school community
• Maintain safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments where all learners can participate and succeed
• Communicate regularly with families about student development and physical literacy goals

Qualifications

• Valid British Columbia teaching certificate or eligibility for certification as an elementary teacher
• Demonstrated expertise or strong background in physical education and health curriculum
• Understanding of child development and inclusive teaching practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• Enthusiasm for creating a positive, active school culture
