Humanities Teacher

Cumberland Valley School District is hiring a 7th Grade Humanities Teacher (ELA) to join the faculty at Mountain View Middle School in the US. This is a full-time teaching position focused on engaging young learners in English language arts instruction and building strong communication and critical thinking skills.

What This Role Involves

As a 7th Grade Humanities Teacher specializing in English Language Arts, you'll deliver curriculum-aligned instruction to middle school students, fostering confidence in reading comprehension, written expression, and analytical thinking. You'll create a dynamic, inclusive classroom where adolescents develop proficiency in literature analysis, persuasive writing, and collaborative communication. This role combines direct instruction, formative assessment, and individualized student support to prepare learners for high school academic expectations.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and deliver evidence-based ELA lessons aligned with Pennsylvania standards and district guidelines
• Implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student comprehension and growth
• Provide targeted feedback and interventions to support diverse learners and differentiate instruction
• Maintain thorough documentation of student achievement, attendance, and academic progress

Requirements

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification: English 7-12, Middle Level English Language Arts 4-8, or equivalent appropriate certification
• Demonstrated expertise in middle-grades ELA curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices
• Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication abilities
