About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential mobility-sector client seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant (m/w/d) in Munich. This is a critical role at the heart of financial operations, where you'll scale accounting infrastructure in a modern SAP S/4HANA environment. You'll own complex closing processes, ensure data integrity across subsystems, and architect intercompany workflows. Your accounting expertise will transform traditional bookkeeping into highly automated, future-proof financial processes supporting rapid international expansion.

Responsibilities

• Master the General Ledger: Independently manage and reconcile general ledgers for selected entities, guaranteeing compliant, seamless bookkeeping according to HGB standards
• Drive financial closings: Proactively lead monthly and annual closing processes; serve as a competent interface during audits and tax examinations
• Optimize data & automation: Safeguard data quality between operational subsystems and the general ledger; identify and implement automation opportunities through targeted controls
• Manage complex structures: Oversee complex financial instruments and drive special projects, such as accounting for ABS structures or receivables sales
• Streamline intercompany workflows: Own seamless reconciliation and allocation between group entities; establish efficient, group-wide financial processes
• Ensure compliance & guidelines: Maintain strict adherence to statutory requirements and internal policies; act as a reliable sparring partner within the team

What We're Looking For

Must have:

• Solid accounting expertise: Several years of hands-on professional experience in general ledger accounting, ideally gained in a dynamic financial services, fintech, or scale-up environment
• Strong HGB & special structures knowledge: In-depth expertise in HGB accounting and proven experience managing complex financial instruments (e.g., ABS structures or receivables sales), paired with a relevant degree or certification as a certified accountant (IHK Bilanzbuchhalter or equivalent)
• System & ERP affinity: Substantial experience applying and optimizing modern ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA), along with a highly analytical, structured, and numbers-driven working style
• Solution-oriented communication: Strong team spirit and the ability to convey complex matters precisely—in German (minimum B2) and solid, confident English

Nice to have:

• IFRS knowledge: Initial practical exposure or solid knowledge of international accounting under IFRS
• Process automation: Experience collaborating closely with product or tech teams to automate interfaces and financial subsystems
