Senior Engineering Program Manager

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace manufacturing organization seeking a Senior Engineering Program Manager for their Berlin facility. This is a full-time, in-office position (5 days per week) where you will drive complex hardware programs from inception through production, working at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead satellite development programs from planning and requirements definition through critical design, build, test, and launch
• Ensure efficient execution of all program phases, including MCR, SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, and LRR
• Develop and track project schedules and budgets across all phases
• Oversee technical plans at all levels, both internally and with external suppliers, including project definition, budgeting, and strategic planning
• Collaborate with external stakeholders including suppliers, partners, vendors, and customers to manage deliverables and program milestones
• Coordinate schedules, priorities, and status updates across engineering, manufacturing, and management teams
• Work with multiple engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to drive productivity on concurrent projects
• Develop tools and processes to measure and improve engineering productivity
• Drive root cause problem-solving and eliminate blocking issues
• Lead manufacturing ramp programs from early factory engagement through production
• Drive root cause analysis for complex engineering and manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of program management experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or similar industry
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
• Experience in engineering program management for hardware systems development and ramp in cross-functional environments
• Proficiency in spoken and written German and professional working proficiency in English
• Experience working with and managing external contract manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences
• Creative and critical thinking capabilities in project execution
• Ability to travel internationally to San Francisco 2-3 times per year
• Ability to access export-controlled information (position requires authorization under German, EU, and U.S. export control regulations)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with satellite manufacturing and assembly, integration, and test processes
• Customer management experience on satellite programs
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills with data-driven strategy capabilities
