Principal Product Manager (Airlines / Travel / Consulting)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a Principal Product Manager with deep expertise in airlines and travel sectors. In this senior role, you will:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, partnering with them to understand their context and needs, making strategic recommendations, and providing hands-on expertise on taking new products from concept to market to scale
• Drive innovation mindset and the overall product development lifecycle, utilizing lean and hypothesis-driven approaches to identify, conceptualize and pilot new products that deliver measurable value
• Establish market and competitive landscape analysis, go-to-market strategy and business case development for new opportunities
• Lead stakeholders to focus on customer problems and business outcomes, guiding them through the change journey of moving to empowered product teams that create strategic growth
• Shape and lead teams to deliver client engagements effectively while maintaining operational excellence
• Contribute to service line value propositions by creating case studies, points of view and defining repeatable practices to scale efforts
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including creating proposals and pitches, shaping engagements and educating clients about service value
• Support business growth through active participation in recruiting, community building, mentorship and driving continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Required Background:

• 10+ years of experience leading new products from concept to launch and scale, with expertise in go-to-market strategy and developing new revenue streams
• Proven experience in airlines, travel or related industries
• Consulting background with ability to advise at C-suite level
• Experience in commercial and economic modeling, including monetization strategy
• Track record of bringing innovation mindset into organizations at scale and creating sustained innovation investment across strategic horizons

Technical Expertise:

• Deep expertise in conducting research and bringing market trends, customer and competitive insights to facilitate strategic ideation
• Strong ability to develop value propositions using lean approaches to test viability, feasibility and desirability before scaling
• Demonstrated hypothesis and data-driven problem-solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses
• Ability to operate at company, portfolio and product level—defining and executing strategy, shaping vision and translating it into roadmaps with clear business and customer value-based measures
• Expertise in end-to-end product development lifecycle, agile and lean software development practices

Professional Skills:

• Skilled at operating and building relationships with C-suite executives and confident driving conversations at the intersection of technology and business
• Strong interpersonal skills—active listening, persuading, empathizing with others and excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner
• Strong consulting skills and ability to operate with ambiguity
• Bias for action with ability to break down complex problems into tangible steps
• Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams, operating both as advisor and hands-on practitioner
• Passion for creating thought-leadership and representing the organization through external events, articles or white papers
