Field Marketing Director – Europe/Africa (6017)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization in their search for a Field Marketing Director to establish and scale field marketing operations across Europe and Africa. This is a rare opportunity to build a new function from the ground up within a high-growth international environment.

Based in London, you will develop the strategy, operating model, and team required to deepen engagement with strategic government, defense, and military stakeholders while creating measurable pipeline impact. This player-coach role requires someone equally comfortable setting regional strategy and executing programs in the field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale field marketing across Europe in close alignment with regional growth, business development, capture, and sales priorities
• Develop regional field marketing strategy for priority European defense, government, and military accounts, with support for select opportunities in Africa
• Build account-based marketing strategies for priority accounts, orchestrating multi-touch engagement across executive briefings, targeted events, and integrated campaigns
• Create engagement strategies tailored to senior military leaders, defense ministry officials, program leaders, acquisition teams, and industry partners
• Own strategy and execution for major European defense and security events, prioritizing high-value account engagement and opportunity progression
• Establish event and program plans aligned with regional procurement cycles, defense modernization priorities, and acquisition pathways
• Partner with regional teams to execute targeted account-based events that generate pipeline, advance opportunities, and deepen executive relationships
• Build and lead a high-performing field marketing team while remaining hands-on with agencies, vendors, logistics, and program delivery
• Create repeatable regional planning, measurement, and reporting processes for disciplined prioritization across markets and accounts
• Establish KPIs reflecting complex defense sales cycles, including account penetration, stakeholder engagement depth, opportunity creation, and pipeline influence

What We're Looking For

• 12+ years of experience in field marketing, demand generation, account-based marketing, or integrated marketing roles
• Demonstrated success marketing into European government, defense, military, aerospace, or national security accounts
• Strong understanding of European defense buying environments, including long sales cycles, procurement processes, and multi-stakeholder acquisition decisions
• Experience developing account-based marketing strategies within complex enterprise, government, or defense accounts
• Credibility engaging senior military leaders, government officials, defense program leaders, and executive-level industry partners
• Proven experience leading teams while operating as a hands-on builder and operator
• Experience planning high-impact executive engagement programs, strategic customer events, trade shows, and integrated field campaigns
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills with sales, business development, capture, growth, and product teams
• Ability to operate effectively across multiple European markets, cultures, and stakeholder groups
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Europe and periodically to Africa
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and structure is evolving
