About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing automotive technology business in London that is reshaping how consumers interact with vehicle marketplaces across Europe. Following a significant acquisition in 2024, our client has doubled their audience reach and now operates at substantial scale with billions in transaction value annually.

They need a strategic, hands-on Head of Talent Acquisition to own the entire talent function during a critical growth phase. This is a genuine leadership opportunity where you'll partner directly with the executive team, own workforce planning, lead a high-performing recruitment team, and ensure every hire raises the bar.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end workforce and capability planning, partnering with senior leadership to determine hiring needs, headcount plans, and budgets aligned to business strategy
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, translating their talent needs into deliverable hiring plans and acting as an advisor on hiring strategy and organisational design
• Lead and directly influence business-critical and executive-level searches, bringing market credibility to attract top-tier talent
• Raise the calibre of talent through consistent scorecards, structured interview processes, and quality-of-hire tracking to prove hiring standards are improving
• Build talent intelligence capabilities to map critical skill pools ahead of need, giving the business a competitive edge
• Lead, coach, and develop the talent acquisition team, setting clear expectations and building a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
• Own how AI is deployed across sourcing, process optimisation, and productivity enhancement
• Own employer brand and external candidate experience, working closely with employee experience functions on proposition and storytelling
• Implement and embed DEI strategy within talent acquisition, ensuring inclusive hiring practices at every stage
• Upskill hiring managers on best practices, from writing effective job specifications to running structured, bias-aware interviews

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading talent acquisition in a fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environment, ideally through periods of significant organisational change
• Track record building, leading, and developing high-performing talent teams with strong people management and coaching skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior leadership and translating business needs into talent plans
• Data-driven approach with comfort building and using dashboards and metrics (time to hire, cost per hire, quality of hire) to drive decisions
• Confident, expert-level knowledge of AI tools and their application to talent acquisition
• Hands-on experience implementing DEI strategy within hiring with a track record of embedding inclusive practices
• Experience owning senior, business-critical, or executive-level searches with the credibility those searches demand
• Experience owning employer brand and candidate experience in partnership with people functions
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity with evolving structures and shifting priorities, balancing long-term strategy with short-term delivery
• Experience with modern ATS platforms (Ashby experience beneficial)
