Staff Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their engineering team in Paris. Our client is a scaling technology company focused on delivering innovative cloud-based solutions with a strong emphasis on architectural excellence and technical leadership.

This is a high-impact role where you'll drive technical strategy across multiple teams, lead complex cross-functional initiatives, and serve as a technical leader within the engineering organization. You'll work with modern backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, and help shape engineering standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead transversal, complex projects autonomously from ideation to completion, starting from high-level problem statements
• Proactively communicate technical vision across multiple teams, ensuring alignment and knowledge sharing across domains
• Act as a go-to technical expert, providing mentorship and guidance across engineering teams
• Define and lead technical strategies for complex, high-impact problems affecting multiple domains
• Set and uphold quality standards; drive adoption of best practices in architecture, security, and DevOps
• Deeply understand multiple product domains and proactively identify improvements
• Write production-ready code and participate in software design discussions
• Demonstrate strong understanding of system infrastructure, DevOps principles, and security-first mindset

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of backend development experience using TypeScript & Node.js, Python, Ruby/Rails, or similar languages
• Proven ability to lead and define technical strategies with strong system design capabilities
• Experience leading complex projects affecting multiple teams and domains from start to finish
• Deep understanding of multiple product domains with ability to anticipate long-term technical needs
• Strong focus on security, scalability, availability, and performance across distributed systems
• Expertise in identifying opportunities for impactful new technical initiatives
• Effective and proactive communication skills with ability to collaborate across different roles and profiles
• Experience with modern tech stacks including: TypeScript/Node.js, Python, REST/GraphQL APIs, Ruby/Rails, React, AWS (Serverless/EKS), PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and domains
