About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in Berlin seeking an experienced tax operations professional. Our client is transforming how tax services are delivered to small and medium-sized businesses through technology and process innovation. As a recruiter working on behalf of this organization, we're looking for a qualified Steuerfachassistent:in who wants to work beyond traditional tax practice environments.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Berlin for candidates with at least 4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle tax-related processes for SME clients, including financial accounting and preparation of tax returns
• Ensure high-quality, timely service delivery for clients on an end-to-end basis
• Collaborate closely with tax advisors and internal teams to continuously improve processes
• Identify recurring manual tasks and actively participate in automating or optimizing them
• Utilize AI-supported platforms and digital tools to increase efficiency and quality in daily work
• Communicate with clients professionally, clearly, empathetically, and in a solution-oriented manner
• Critically reflect on your own work methods to identify learning opportunities and help the team become more efficient

What We're Looking For

• Completed training as Steuerfachangestellte:r, relevant degree, or comparable qualification
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in tax operations
• Desire to go beyond routine processing—you think critically, question processes, and want to create real value
• Strong initiative: you recognize what needs to be done and act without waiting to be told
• Comfort with new tools and technologies: curious, quick learner, eager to master digital working methods
• Critical self-reflection: you know your strengths, recognize gaps, and actively work to develop yourself and your team
• Quality consciousness: you deliver careful, reliable work with genuine personal standards
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a strong plus
• Ability to work fully on-site in our client's Berlin office
• Fluent German required; English skills advantageous
