Lead UI/UX Designer – Unannounced Project

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential interactive entertainment studio in their search for a Lead UI/UX Designer to drive the player experience on an exciting unannounced mobile title. You will own the interface and user flows from early conceptual wireframes through final technical implementation in Unreal Engine.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the UX vision for current and future projects, creating and reviewing wireframes, prototypes, and design briefs while presenting to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Oversee the complete design process from concept to implementation in Unreal Engine, maintaining high quality standards throughout
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive, user-friendly designs
• Utilize player data and frequent testing to validate UX flows and identify improvement opportunities during development and live operations
• Develop and maintain design guidelines, standards, and best practices for the team
• Partner with the Art Director to ensure UI art style is appealing, accessible, and aligned with the overall visual direction
• Support marketing and presentation rendering needs
• Work with the Design Director to align UX with core gameplay pillars and vision
• Guide feature and system development using deep UX/UI expertise
• Build efficient, futureproof systems based on component re-use rather than bespoke assets
• Lead and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, both internal and external
• Provide career development support including regular one-to-ones and development plans

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks an experienced UX Lead, Manager, or Director with shipped titles and a proven track record in mobile game development. The ideal candidate brings:

• Demonstrable experience leading UX on shipped mobile titles
• Deep expertise in mobile development, particularly supporting live-operations, rapid iteration, and agile methodologies
• Proven experience with live-service design methodologies and building evolving games for large player communities
• Strong understanding of what it takes to develop and ship a live-service title on time and at quality
• Mastery of design systems, workflows, and processes
• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
• Experience working in Unreal Engine
• Strong leadership abilities and passion for mentoring design talent
• Ability to leverage data and testing to drive design decisions

This is a hybrid position based in London, requiring two days per week in the office.
