Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a well-funded, high-growth workforce technology company in their search for a General Counsel. This is a remote opportunity open to candidates anywhere in the world.

Our client is a fast-scaling SaaS organization in the HR technology space, providing AI-powered solutions to large enterprises with distributed hourly workforces. As their first General Counsel and a key member of the executive leadership team, you'll build and lead the legal function during a critical phase of global expansion and product innovation.

Responsibilities

As General Counsel, you will:

• Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategy aligned with business objectives in AI-powered workforce technology
• Serve as strategic advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors on legal, regulatory, governance, and risk matters
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing in-house legal team while managing external counsel across jurisdictions
• Oversee corporate governance, Board management, entity compliance, and equity/debt financing transactions
• Own legal support for enterprise SaaS commercial operations, including subscription agreements, channel partnerships, data processing agreements, and professional services contracts
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure platform compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and customer requirements, particularly around AI governance
• Lead global privacy and data protection programs, including compliance with U.S. federal/state laws and international frameworks
• Advise on employment matters and support product features designed to help customers comply with labor and scheduling regulations
• Develop and implement global IP strategy covering patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and open-source usage for AI models and workforce management innovations
• Design risk and compliance frameworks addressing evolving regulations in AI/ML, data privacy, employment law, and enterprise cloud services
• Lead legal aspects of M&A, strategic partnerships, and corporate development initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school with active U.S. state bar membership in good standing
• 15+ years of combined experience at top-tier law firms and in-house, with significant time as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, or senior deputy GC at a high-growth technology or SaaS company
• Deep expertise in enterprise SaaS and commercial contracting
• Strong background in corporate governance for venture-backed or private equity-backed companies
• Extensive experience with data privacy, security, and IP strategy
• Proven track record building and leading legal teams supporting rapid growth and international expansion
• Business-minded approach that balances risk with strategic and commercial objectives

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in HR technology, workforce management, fintech, or data-intensive SaaS businesses
• Prior leadership supporting AI/ML products and associated ethical, regulatory, and data governance issues
• Experience with global customers and operations across North America, EMEA, and APAC
• Background working with large enterprise and strategic HCM platform partners

Pay

This is a full-time, exempt position. Some travel may be required to meet with stakeholders and teams.

Our client offers a competitive compensation package including base salary of $250,000 - $300,000, performance bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits including $0 monthly premium medical options, 401k, discretionary PTO, parental leave, and wellness reimbursements.
