Senior Technical Architect

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital agency seeking a Senior Technical Architect to serve as the senior technical authority on cloud engagements. In this outward-facing leadership role, you will own the design and quality of robust, scalable applications while partnering directly with clients and driving technical strategy.

You will architect enterprise-grade cloud applications with a strong focus on agentic AI platform components—including orchestration, memory, tool integration, identity, guardrails, and observability—as well as emerging Agentic Commerce. Your responsibilities include:

• Acting as the account's senior authority on complex cloud architectures, establishing technical governance, design standards, and managing risk, non-functional requirements, and technical debt
• Designing AWS-based agentic AI platforms (orchestration, RAG, memory, guardrails, and MCP) and establishing reusable patterns for clients
• Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts, and facilitating technical discovery workshops
• Providing hands-on technical ownership by proving solutions, reviewing code, and designing robust API/integration patterns
• Proactively identifying, shaping, and pitching technical solutions to drive account growth alongside commercial teams
• Mentoring engineers and architects, sharing knowledge on emerging technologies, and raising the overall technical bar across the practice
• Championing a quality-first mindset using Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Senior or Principal architect experience in digital agencies or consultancies, with proven ability to lead development teams and guide clients through workshops
• Deep hands-on expertise in designing, documenting, and delivering resilient, high-availability enterprise applications on AWS (including serverless patterns and integration components)
• Strong understanding of building agentic AI platforms on AWS (e.g., Bedrock, orchestrations, RAG, gateways/MCP) and awareness of Agentic Commerce concepts (ACP, AP2, A2A)
• Strong development background, ideally in TypeScript/JavaScript, with robust API design, documentation, and versioning experience
• Infrastructure-as-Code proficiency (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and strict quality automation practices
• Excellent written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills capable of translating complex technical concepts for senior stakeholders
• Proactive, energetic collaborator skilled at identifying business growth opportunities

Preferred qualifications:

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification (or Associate as a minimum)
• AWS Specialty certifications (Security, Data/ML)
• Familiarity with the C4 model, diagrams-as-code, DevOps practices, headless architectures, and practical application of LLMs within enterprises

This is a permanent position based in London or Manchester with a hybrid working model (office four days per week on average).
