Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential tax advisory firm in Hamburg that is seeking a Tax Specialist or IT Specialist to lead DATEV administration and office organization. This is a hands-on role within a small technical team managing a growing client portfolio and an upcoming cloud migration.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Serving as the primary contact for clients on all DATEV-related questions, from permissions management to troubleshooting daily technical issues
• Onboarding new clients into the DATEV ecosystem, including system connections, ERP interface setup, and technical handover
• Providing internal consultation to accounting and tax colleagues on DATEV workflows and problem resolution
• Managing the firm's DATEV environment—permissions, updates, licenses, and documentation
• Contributing ideas for process improvement using automation, AI tools, or other technologies where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Completed training as a Tax Specialist (Steuerfachangestellter) with strong IT affinity, OR an IT-focused qualification (e.g., IT Specialist, IT Systems Administrator) with hands-on DATEV experience in a tax or accounting environment
• Deep working knowledge of DATEV Kanzlei-Rechnungswesen, DATEV Unternehmen online, or comparable DATEV applications
• Structured, independent working style with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous requests
• Clear, patient communication skills—especially when addressing recurring client questions
• Ideally, you have already completed FAIT (Fachassistent IT) certification or are motivated to pursue it with employer support
• Very good German and good English language skills

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience and qualifications.

The client offers 50% remote work, 30 vacation days plus 6 additional free days, a Germany-wide travel pass, pension contributions, ergonomic workspaces, and a central Hamburg location with excellent transport links.
