Engagement Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting firm that delivers technology and operational assessments to enterprise clients. Our talent team is seeking a freelance Engagement Manager to coordinate client delivery alongside senior partners and technical architects.

This is a project-based, primarily remote role within the UK. Typical assignments span approximately 18 days over an eight-week assessment period, with scope and effort confirmed for each engagement. Occasional client meetings in London may be required with advance notice.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain delivery plans, responsibility matrices, and review schedules for client engagements
• Coordinate client interviews and evidence-gathering activities to avoid duplication
• Track delivery effort, dependencies, risks, and agreed actions throughout the assessment lifecycle
• Prepare concise weekly progress updates and escalate decisions proactively
• Ensure reports and review packs are complete, consistent, and ready for client presentation
• Manage client feedback cycles, coordinate presentations, and facilitate final handover

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing consulting engagements or technology assessments with external clients
• Ability to coordinate technical specialists and architects while controlling scope and effort
• Confidence handling senior client stakeholders and discussing sensitive findings
• Strong written English and practical proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools
• Experience managing document reviews, commercial boundaries, and delivery risks
• Background in financial services or professional services environments is advantageous
