Field Service Technician (Maintenance) – Leeds, UK (Fixed-Term, Minimum 30 Hours/Week)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential retail technology client seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain specialized camera systems installed throughout retail locations in the Leeds region. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, with potential for extension.

In this mobile role, you will travel to customer sites to ensure hardware systems remain operational and meet service level agreements. Your day-to-day work will include:

• Diagnosing, installing, replacing, and configuring camera hardware in accordance with technical standards
• Conducting routine preventative maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations
• Responding promptly to service calls and ensuring customer SLAs are consistently met
• Maintaining accurate service records including work performed, parts used, and time spent using company-provided tools
• Onboarding and scanning products into digital systems as required
• Attending installations during overnight hours when necessary to minimize disruption to retail operations
• Installing hardware onto shelves, ceilings, and other equipment per installation plans and specifications
• Operating power tools safely and efficiently to complete installations and repairs
• Meeting or exceeding speed and quality KPIs consistently
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress, challenges, and issues encountered during site visits
• Adhering strictly to safety protocols and company policies at all times

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings hands-on field service experience and thrives in an independent, mobile work environment. Our talent team is seeking someone with:

• Proven experience as a field service technician, preferably in installation, construction, or a related technical field
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently
• Proficiency using power tools and installation equipment safely and effectively
• Physical stamina to work on your feet and perform demanding tasks for extended periods (up to 9 hours)
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure all work meets quality standards and technical specifications
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Effective communication skills for liaising with supervisors, team members, and customers
• A full valid UK driving licence and reliable transportation to travel to customer sites (required)
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as installations and urgent maintenance require

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £17 per hour
