Field Service Technician (Maintenance) – Newcastle upon Tyne, UK (Fixed-Term, Minimum 30 Hours/Week)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential retail technology client seeking a Field Service Technician for the Newcastle upon Tyne region. This is a fixed-term contract position (6 months, with potential to extend) working a minimum of 30 hours per week. You will be responsible for maintaining and servicing camera-based retail systems at customer sites throughout your territory.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Diagnosing, installing, replacing, and configuring camera hardware at retail locations in accordance with technical standards
• Conducting routine preventative maintenance checks to identify and address potential system issues
• Responding promptly to service calls and ensuring customer service level agreements are consistently met
• Maintaining accurate records of service activities, parts used, and time spent using company-provided documentation tools
• Supporting product onboarding and scanning activities within the retail system
• Attending installations during night hours as required by customer schedules
• Installing equipment onto shelves, ceilings, and other retail fixtures per technical specifications
• Operating power tools safely and efficiently to complete maintenance and installation tasks
• Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines during site visits
• Working collaboratively with team members to ensure timely project completion
• Meeting or exceeding quality and speed KPIs consistently
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress, issues, and challenges

Please note: This role requires flexibility for weekend and night work based on customer needs. You must hold a full valid UK driving licence and have reliable transportation to travel to customer sites.

What We're Looking For

• Previous field service technician experience in installation, construction, or related technical field work
• Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues
• Proficiency using power tools and installation equipment safely and efficiently
• Physical stamina to work on your feet and perform demanding tasks for extended periods (up to 9 hours)
• Excellent attention to detail ensuring maintenance work meets quality standards and specifications
• Strong time management skills with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Effective communication skills for liaising with supervisors, team members, and customers
• Full valid UK driving licence (required)
• Reliable personal transportation for traveling to customer sites
• Availability to work nights and weekends as needed

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £17 per hour
