Backend Developer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization expanding its engineering capabilities in Germany. Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is seeking a Backend Developer to build core infrastructure for next-generation financial products serving millions of users across multiple markets.

This is a remote position for candidates already based in Germany. English is the primary working language across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services and APIs supporting onboarding, accounts, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, KYC and risk workflows
• Design reliable systems capable of handling real customer transactions and operational workflows at scale
• Integrate with internal systems, financial partners, payment providers, AI services and third-party platforms
• Own backend quality including reliability, security, latency, observability, data integrity and incident response
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile and AI teams to launch features efficiently and safely
• Improve existing systems by simplifying flows, eliminating manual processes and automating repeatable tasks

What We're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience building production systems
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs, events and integrations
• Proven experience developing services used by real customers or internal operations at meaningful scale
• Strong focus on debugging, reliability, security and data quality
• Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, correctness, scalability and maintainability
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, wallets, KYC, fraud or risk systems is a strong advantage
• Real technology career highlights where you personally built, shipped or scaled serious products or platforms

Not a fit if you: Only want isolated backend tasks, ignore security or operational risk, struggle with fast-changing requirements, or cannot demonstrate concrete ownership of production systems.
