Analytics Engineer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data platform organization with operations across Hamburg and Berlin. Our talent team is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join a Data Content & Delivery function, where you'll shape the intersection between data infrastructure, technology applications, and scalable distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain backend services in Python that support data access and distribution layers
• Build and operate automated build, test, and deployment pipelines following CI/CD and GitOps principles on AWS and Kubernetes
• Design and maintain data models and schemas (Avro, SQL) for data pipelines and services, making them available to downstream consumers via streaming platforms and schema registries
• Create data models for access layers within analytics environments such as Snowflake, enabling applications to work directly with data including via APIs
• Act as a coordinating interface between Data and Tech teams, aligning priorities, schemas, and timelines with upstream and downstream stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• At least three years of professional experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a comparable position
• Strong SQL skills and solid experience in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and star schemas
• Hands-on experience with event streaming and message distribution, ideally with Kafka, including schema management via schema registries (Avro, Protobuf, or JSON Schema)
• Experience designing data contracts and schemas between upstream data producers and downstream data consumers
• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, and modern data stack tools like dbt and CI/CD
• Openness to AI-assisted development workflows using tools like Claude Code or similar
• Excellent communication skills in both English and German
