Senior Backend Developer (Token Factory)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join their distributed team in Berlin. In this role, you will:

• Scale distributed systems to handle significantly increased AI workloads while maintaining performance and reliability
• Enhance system stability and uptime to meet enterprise-grade expectations for production AI deployments
• Optimize AI performance by continuously adapting to new models, hardware configurations, and runtime improvements
• Expand platform capabilities beyond inference into broader AI infrastructure, including data pipelines and advanced usage features
• Develop and maintain web services using primarily Go and Python
• Collaborate closely with teams focused on infrastructure, observability, billing, and AI research
• Build systems that support customers running AI workloads reliably at scale, from startups to large enterprises
• Work in a highly iterative development process aligned with real-world customer use cases

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and Go
• Proficiency in contemporary software engineering approaches, including CI/CD, version control, and unit testing
• Experience developing web services
• Commitment to maintaining extreme rigor in all job-related activities

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous experience working with language models or similar NLP technologies
• Track record of building and delivering products in a dynamic startup-like environment
• Experience developing large distributed systems or high-load web services
• Open-source contributions that showcase your engineering capabilities
