About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology consultancy based in Köln that specializes in modern cloud transformation and infrastructure services. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer / Architect to join their growing practice, working with enterprise clients across Germany on cutting-edge cloud-native projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze client requirements and design modern cloud architecture solutions for complex enterprise environments
- Build and operate tailored solutions in cloud and hybrid infrastructures, contributing technical expertise to ongoing optimization initiatives
- Assess existing application landscapes and develop migration strategies to cloud platforms, overseeing implementation
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and microservices collaboratively, ensuring security, stability, and compliance through Infrastructure as Code practices
- Own and manage build, staging, deployment, and release processes independently
- Provide technical consulting to clients both remotely and on-site across Germany
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable IT qualification with 3-5+ years of professional experience
- Strong expertise in cloud development and architecture using Kubernetes / OpenShift-based microservices, including networking and storage in hybrid and cloud-native environments
- Hands-on experience with DevOps / GitOps / CI/CD tooling (GitHub, GitLab, CircleCI, Tekton, or similar)
- Proficiency in software engineering with Java/Kotlin and frameworks such as Quarkus, Spring Boot, or Micronaut; experience with Kafka
- Proven track record using scripting languages, Infrastructure as Code, and automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Linux/Bash, and Python
- Quality-focused approach with strong hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills
- Passion for evolving technologies and methodologies; keen interest in digital trends and strategic implementations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable speaking to technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluency in both German and English (minimum C1 level written and spoken)
- Team-oriented mindset with initiative and motivation to take ownership
