Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential cybersecurity consultancy seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their München office. In this role, you will:

  • Develop secure software and infrastructure solutions with security-by-design principles integrated from the outset
  • Support client engagements in designing, developing, and protecting modern applications and infrastructures across AI, web, API, and cloud environments
  • Identify security risks in existing applications, cloud environments, and infrastructure configurations, then derive concrete remediation measures
  • Conduct security-focused code reviews and establish best practices for secure software development
  • Collaborate with development teams, architects, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders to design holistic secure systems
  • Implement security mechanisms including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secrets management in software and cloud configurations
  • Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines and support DevSecOps structure development
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions for secure, transparent, and repeatable provisioning
  • Analyze emerging technologies and tools in application security and contribute ideas to client projects
  • Guide clients through transformation toward secure software development, modern architectures, and automated infrastructure processes
  • Take ownership of work packages and actively contribute to service development

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science, business information systems, IT security, or comparable qualification with strong academic results
  • 2–5 years of professional experience for the Senior Engineer level (1–2 years for Engineer level)
  • Solid software development knowledge in Java, Python, TypeScript, or Go with security-first mindset
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructures, automation, and deployment processes
  • Experience with clean code, design patterns, and software quality principles applied to automation and infrastructure code
  • Proficiency with version control (Git) and code review practices
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and understanding of common vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and container security
  • Practical experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi
  • Experience with automated testing including unit, integration, and security tests, plus automated validation of infrastructure configurations
  • Analytical thinking to assess and prioritize security risks in a structured manner
  • Strong team collaboration skills with ability to take responsibility and drive initiatives independently
  • Confident communication in both German and English (minimum C1 level required) with ability to explain complex topics clearly to clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevSecOps approaches integrated into development and deployment processes across AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Understanding of modern security architectures including zero trust, least privilege, and defense in depth
  • Professional certifications in security
  • Prior consulting or client-facing experience
