Senior Staff Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential identity and access management organization that is building next-generation capabilities to secure and govern AI agents. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join a platform engineering group focused on delivering features that span their cloud identity platform.

This is a remote position offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge identity solutions for AI while collaborating with a global, cross-functional team. You'll contribute to production capabilities that help enterprise customers identify, secure, and govern AI agents at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deliver identity and access management capabilities across the full stack, from infrastructure and databases through to UI experiences
• Design and implement APIs, data models, workflows, orchestration surfaces, and distributed services
• Research and prototype solutions in emerging areas, working with senior technical leaders to turn validated concepts into product features
• Collaborate with product management, UX, and engineering teams to refine features and deliver elegant, scalable outcomes
• Participate in the complete development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, rollout, and production support
• Leverage modern AI tooling as part of the engineering workflow to accelerate research, prototyping, implementation, and documentation
• Share knowledge and support other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and technical mentorship
• Adapt rapidly to evolving customer needs, technology trends, and new ways of working

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven ability to design, build, test, and operate production services using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience using AI engineering tools to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering judgment
• Track record building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, integration contracts, and data or domain models
• Demonstrated ability to transform ambiguous requirements into production-ready solutions
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modeling
• Familiarity with AI agent identity and non-human identity concepts
• Knowledge of MCP, agent skills, and other agent integration frameworks
• Experience working across multiple codebases and product areas to deliver cohesive outcomes
• Experience with distributed systems at scale
• Track record working as part of international teams
• Experience contributing to technical designs and proof-of-concept work
