About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology organization based in Stuttgart that is building a sovereign cloud platform from the ground up. This is a genuine platform engineering role where you will architect and develop multi-tenant Kubernetes infrastructure hosted entirely in German data centers—no hyperscaler dependencies, complete control, and serving clients with the highest security and availability requirements.
Our talent team is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join this greenfield initiative. You will design tenant isolation concepts, implement GitOps workflows, and work closely with development teams to enable self-service capabilities on a production-grade, cloud-native stack.
Responsibilities
- Design and build highly available Kubernetes clusters using open-source tooling, including networking, storage, load balancing, and authentication
- Develop and evolve the multi-tenant architecture—isolated customer environments with full lifecycle management
- Implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and fleet management tools for automated deployment and day-2 operations
- Build Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, or similar; implement Policy as Code for security and governance
- Collaborate with application development teams on performance and availability requirements
- Provide platform engineering support: create self-service capabilities, define standards, onboard internal teams
- Support migration of workloads into the cloud platform and resolve operational insights from monitoring and incident data
- Contribute to high-availability concepts including distributed in-memory architectures
What We're Looking For
Must-Have:
- Several years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, container technologies, or infrastructure automation
- Strong Kubernetes expertise, ideally from operating production multi-cluster environments
- Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD or similar) and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
- Fluent German (C1 minimum) and strong English, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and cross-office collaboration
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with enterprise Kubernetes management platforms
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, Policy as Code, or high-availability design patterns
- Familiarity with monitoring stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana
Personal Qualities:
- Systems-thinking mindset with a view for the bigger picture beyond individual tickets
- Confident communication with both development teams and clients
- Structured, independent, solution-oriented work style
- Ability to coordinate initiatives across teams and customer boundaries
