Forward Deployed Engineer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization based in Berlin that is building next-generation intelligent automation systems. Our talent team is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise clients, translating complex business processes into reliable AI-powered solutions.

This is a high-impact, client-facing technical role where you'll own deployments from discovery through production. You'll work at the intersection of customer needs, workflow design, and AI system implementation—spending your time between customer conversations, prompt engineering, technical integrations, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own AI deployments end-to-end, from initial customer discovery and workflow mapping through solution design, implementation, testing, and production deployment
• Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their business processes, identify high-value automation opportunities, and translate requirements into practical AI agent solutions
• Design and build agentic workflows including workflow decomposition, agent configuration, prompt engineering, testing, and ongoing optimization
• Build and manage integrations with customer systems, working with APIs and coordinating with client-side technical teams to connect agents into existing workflows
• Manage delivery across multiple stakeholders, maintaining project timelines while communicating clearly with both technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Partner with product, engineering, and ML teams to surface platform gaps, scope improvements, and translate customer needs into product capabilities
• Bring customer insights back to inform platform improvements, workflows, and best practices
• Act as a technical partner to customers, advising them on effective approaches to AI automation and where agents can create the most leverage

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2-3 years in a client-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Implementation Consultant, Deployment Engineer, Customer Engineer, or similar position
• Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to run delivery timelines, manage client expectations, and explain technical concepts clearly to both engineers and executives
• Demonstrated prompt engineering expertise with systematic experience writing, testing, and optimizing prompts in production or near-production settings
• Solid API knowledge and integration experience, comfortable scoping and coordinating API-based integrations with external systems
• Analytical, process-driven thinking with the ability to break messy business workflows into structured components and design automation approaches

Nice to Have:

• Background in AI/ML or hands-on experience applying AI to business workflows
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
