Data Scientist – Forecasting

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential entertainment technology organization seeking a talented Data Scientist to join their customer lifecycle value team in London. This role focuses on developing predictive models and analytical insights that drive player engagement, retention, and monetization strategies across a global user base.

As a Data Scientist specializing in forecasting, you will own the end-to-end development of machine learning models that directly inform commercial and product decisions. You'll work with large-scale behavioral and transactional datasets to uncover patterns that enhance customer experiences and drive measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver machine learning models for churn prediction, purchase propensity, store recommendations, and customer lifetime value forecasting
• Translate complex business problems into appropriate modeling approaches, selecting optimal methods and features to deliver measurable results
• Analyze large-scale behavioral and transactional data to identify patterns and opportunities for customer growth and engagement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and commercial stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives
• Partner with stakeholders across commercial, finance, and lifecycle teams to support data-driven decision-making
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Expand your expertise in advanced modeling approaches including deep learning and sequence-based methods to solve increasingly complex business challenges

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience building predictive models (churn, propensity, segmentation, or value modeling) in commercial environments
• Demonstrated ability to independently own problems from definition through to solution delivery, showing strong initiative and accountability
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity across common data science and ML libraries
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques including regression, tree-based models, and clustering, with practical knowledge of when and how to apply them
• Experience working with large datasets to generate actionable business insights
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to articulate complex insights to diverse stakeholders
• Awareness of modern machine learning approaches such as embeddings, sequence models, and deep learning
• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative or technical field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related discipline)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with production environments, MLOps, or data pipeline development
• Experience with large-scale data processing using PySpark or equivalent distributed computing tools
• Background in gaming, e-commerce, or subscription-based product environments
