Responsibilities

• Build and ship Android features using Kotlin for financial and insurance product flows
• Create clean, intuitive mobile experiences for payments, claims processing, renewals, and related services
• Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify complex user journeys
• Integrate backend APIs and ensure mobile flows are stable, secure, and reliable
• Improve app performance metrics including crash rates, loading states, responsiveness, and memory usage
• Use analytics and user behavior data to identify and resolve production issues
• Implement AI-assisted features where they genuinely enhance the user experience

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
• Proven track record shipping production Android applications
• Strong knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture patterns
• Deep understanding of mobile UX principles, usability considerations, and edge case handling
• Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues
• Ability to execute quickly with high ownership and attention to product quality
• Portfolio of shipped work (app links, GitHub repos, or screenshots strongly preferred)
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, SQL/NoSQL databases, and TensorFlow Lite is valued
• Must be based in Australia and have strong English communication skills

This role requires someone who: thinks in complete user journeys rather than isolated screens, cares about making complex financial products feel simple, maintains code quality while moving fast, proactively identifies UX and performance issues, and can clearly articulate their individual contributions to team projects.

This role is not suitable for: engineers seeking fully specified tickets, developers who don't consider user experience, those who overlook crashes or edge cases, slow movers in startup environments, or candidates who cannot demonstrate concrete individual impact.
