Senior Consultant, Internal Communications

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurance organization seeking a Senior Consultant for Internal Communications. This is a high-visibility role supporting a large North American business unit with approximately 6,500 employees. You'll work within a Strategy, Alignment and Communications team to define and execute internal communications strategy that supports business objectives and enhances the employee experience.

The position reports to the Head of Internal Communications and partners closely with executive leadership, including the chief of staff to the business president and talent partners. You'll manage complex, large-scale communications initiatives while championing the use of GenAI tools to elevate your effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Partner with various levels of management to identify business objectives and translate them into strategic communications plans
• Recommend internal communications solutions to open-ended business challenges
• Ensure effective delivery of key messages to targeted employee audiences with alignment to brand and organizational goals
• Proactively identify opportunities to syndicate content across all audiences and channels, both internally and externally
• Lead oversight for large and/or complex internal communications campaigns or projects, such as workforce transitions impacting multiple teams
• Perform project management duties including planning, tracking deliverables, and interfacing with internal teams and external vendors
• Ensure projects are completed within budget, schedule, and quality parameters
• Evaluate communication plan effectiveness using appropriate success metrics and adjust based on feedback
• Maintain a coordinated calendar of communications activity aligned with enterprise-wide initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Communications, English, Journalism, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 7-8 years of relevant and progressively responsible communications or finance experience, preferably in financial services or operations
• Internal communications experience required
• Strong business acumen, consultative skills, and integrated thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational capabilities
• Advanced project planning skills with proven track record of execution
• Experience championing and implementing GenAI tools in communications workflows
• Ability to influence outcomes with autonomy in a high-visibility environment
