About This Opportunity
We are representing a fast-growing SaaS organization seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Analytics & Data Platform team in Paris. Our client operates a cloud-based communications platform serving over 22,000 customers globally, and they need an experienced engineer to help manage their real-time analytics and event platform stack.
In this role, you'll build data solutions that unlock value for thousands of users worldwide, enabling real-time insights, monitoring, and comprehensive analytical reporting. You'll work on streaming architectures, optimize query performance, and solve complex data challenges at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, low-latency streaming platform solutions to provide near real-time data capabilities
- Analyze and translate business requirements into optimized data models for big data environments
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize queries for better efficiency
- Write clean, scalable code using Scala, Python, and SQL; test and deploy applications
- Solve challenging data problems in near real-time using optimal architectures, frameworks, and query techniques across structured and unstructured data sources
- Contribute to high-quality, secure, and scalable engineering solutions
- Participate in product and platform performance optimization and live site monitoring
- Mentor team members through actionable feedback and knowledge sharing
Technology stack includes: AWS services (Kinesis, Kafka, S3, DMS, Glue, EMR, EKS, Redshift, Spectrum), Apache Pinot, Apache Flink, Airflow, and GitLab-based continuous deployment.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or mathematics
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with near real-time analytics systems
- 5+ years of experience with modern programming languages such as Scala, Python, Go, or TypeScript
- Proven experience designing complex data processing pipelines
- Strong background in data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling) within AWS Redshift or similar platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in query optimization
- Experience shipping and maintaining production code
- Kafka experience is a plus
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for sharing ideas and learning from others
