Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Nantes, France

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI technology client seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Data Infrastructure & Acquisition. This fully remote role is based in Nantes, France, and focuses on building and operating large-scale data collection systems that power next-generation AI models.

This position sits at the intersection of infrastructure engineering and AI research, requiring someone who can work scrappily to acquire new data sources while building robust, cost-effective pipelines at petabyte scale.

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate new sources of audio data into existing ingestion pipelines
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, working primarily with GCP and Terraform
• Collaborate with AI research scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and quality across the data acquisition pipeline
• Deliver increasingly rich datasets at scale to support model training operations
• Partner with leadership to shape the dataset roadmap for next-generation products
• Build and maintain large-scale data processing workflows in a distributed cloud environment

What We're Looking For

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Strong proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments
• Expertise in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP preferred)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a significant plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Comfortable working in a fully remote, asynchronous team environment
