Software Engineer, Platform – Nantes, France

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology company seeking a Software Engineer, Platform based in Nantes, France. Our client operates in a fully distributed environment and is building innovative products that serve millions of users globally.

This platform engineering role is critical to our client's backend infrastructure. You'll work on services that power payment processing, subscriptions, analytics, external APIs, and core product features. This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to make strategic technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public-facing APIs and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and usage tracking
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate on enterprise solutions, focusing on customization and integration requirements for business clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience goals
• Deliver results consistently in a distributed team environment with strong communication practices

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript/Node.js (required)
• Direct hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and business impact
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work asynchronously in a distributed team
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Preferred: Proficiency deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes
