Territory Account Executive, Birmingham

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential payments technology client seeking a Territory Account Executive for Birmingham. In this field-focused role, you will be the primary sales presence in your territory, spending approximately 80% of your time meeting businesses face-to-face.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Conducting 50–60 targeted business visits weekly across your assigned territory
• Managing the full sales cycle independently: prospecting, needs assessment, product demonstrations, and deal closure
• Building a robust pipeline through door-to-door outreach, community engagement, networking events, and strategic partnerships
• Developing deep expertise in key verticals including restaurants, retail, and service-based businesses
• Establishing trust-based relationships with local business owners by serving as a reliable, knowledgeable resource
• Maintaining rigorous activity tracking and pipeline management in Salesforce
• Partnering cross-functionally to ensure seamless customer onboarding and implementation
• Implementing referral strategies to generate ongoing business opportunities
• Consistently meeting and exceeding quarterly sales targets in a high-accountability environment

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a driven sales professional who thrives in dynamic, demanding environments and operates with strategic precision.

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of full-cycle sales experience with proven field sales background
• Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and closing complex deals
• Business development experience including hunting, prospecting, and cold calling
• Ability to work independently and drive deals forward in fast-paced settings
• Proficiency with Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms
• Reliable transportation and residency in the Birmingham market
• Collaborative mindset and strong team player mentality

Preferred qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in payment processing or related technology (payroll, loyalty programs, time management systems)
• 1+ years working in or selling to restaurants, retail establishments, or service-based businesses
• Experience selling diverse product ecosystems rather than single solutions
