About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded technology company building AI-powered workflow software for a critical but underserved sector of the physical economy. Our client has significant enterprise traction and recently closed a substantially oversubscribed seed round backed by top-tier venture capital.

They need exceptional product engineers who can own complex, stateful interfaces end to end—from data model through backend to the surfaces that professionals interact with daily. This is not a feature-factory role. You'll be building workflows that support high-stakes certification and compliance processes, and the people using your software have decades of domain expertise. The interface must earn their trust.

Responsibilities

• Own product surfaces from conception through shipping—interface design, backend implementation, and underlying data architecture
• Build dense, stateful workflows for users managing complex operational processes across distributed teams
• Ship production code in your first week and maintain responsibility for what you build
• Engage directly with customer workflows—reading their actual documents, joining calls, analyzing real-world usage patterns
• Make architectural decisions about what to build, what to defer, and what to say no to
• Maintain extremely high quality bars while moving at startup velocity

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated ability to build genuinely hard things and deploy them to real users—not prototypes or course projects, but production systems that broke and required fixing
• Full-stack capability with strength in building quality user interfaces and the backend systems that support them
• Ability to internalize complex workflows and distill them into interfaces simple enough to ship
• Speed combined with taste—you ship fast but are opinionated about scope and quality
• Direct research approach: you go to primary sources rather than waiting for specifications
• Technology agnostic: the client cares more about raw engineering strength than specific framework experience (their stack is learnable quickly; judgment and standards are not)

Valued but not required: Founder or early-stage startup experience, participation in competitive accelerators, open source maintenance, demonstrable design sensibility.

This role likely isn't suitable if: You prefer strict work-life boundaries, need well-defined tickets handed to you, or want to specialize narrowly within a single domain. The client runs an ambitious, high-ownership culture with in-person collaboration in Shoreditch.
