(Senior) Consultant* – SEPA-Payments

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services consultancy seeking a talented (Senior) Consultant to join their SEPA-Payments practice. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on challenging payment transformation projects for leading financial institutions across Germany and beyond.

You'll work in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment where your technical knowledge and client-facing skills will directly impact mission-critical payment infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute consulting projects in the payments domain, from business analysis and functional design through testing to implementation support
• Deliver business analysis, functional specifications, and testing strategies for SEPA payment transformation initiatives
• Work closely with clients to understand requirements and provide solutions leveraging industry best practices and project experience
• Take increasing responsibility for project workstreams, including leadership of sub-projects and smaller teams
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of payment system implementations
• Apply deep knowledge of SEPA standards, processes, and infrastructure to solve complex client challenges

What We're Looking For

• Strong interest and demonstrated experience in SEPA payments and European payment systems
• Solid understanding of SEPA concepts including pain, pacs, and camt message formats
• Familiarity with SEPA processes such as SCL, STEP2, SCT (Credit Transfer), SDD (Direct Debit), Clearing & Settlement, and R-transactions
• Proven analytical and conceptual abilities with strong problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented approach with excellent client service mindset and strong stakeholder management capabilities
• Assertiveness and ability to drive decisions in complex project environments
• Fluent German and English language skills (both written and spoken)
• Flexibility for national and international travel as project requirements dictate
• Consulting experience in financial services or payments is highly valued
