About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential research organization in the nanotechnology sector, seeking an EDA Engineering professional to support a major national circuit design initiative. This role sits at the intersection of electronic design automation, semiconductor research, and emerging AI-enhanced methodologies.

Our client is part of a significant multi-year, multi-partner research program focused on advancing integrated circuit design capabilities, including chiplet architectures and AI-enriched design flows. You will work closely with research teams, doctoral candidates, and industry partners across multiple laboratory sites.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and evolve the EDA software environment for consortium partners, including CAD tools, simulation platforms, characterization systems, process design kits, and IP libraries
• Qualify EDA tools (commercial and open source), device models, and IP blocks by defining test benches, performance metrics, evaluation protocols, and validation reports
• Participate in the integration and evaluation of AI-augmented EDA methods, including flow optimization, model generation, and automated result analysis
• Provide technical support to research teams covering installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and liaison with tool vendors and local IT teams
• Contribute to technical project deliverables including specification documents, qualification reports, and user guides for tools and IP
• Implement best practices for version control, result traceability, flow automation through scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization
• Conduct technology watch on EDA tools, IP libraries, and advanced computing technologies, proposing software infrastructure improvements

What We're Looking For

• Engineering degree, Master's degree, or PhD in computer science, microelectronics, or related field
• Strong competencies in EDA (front-end and/or back-end): RTL, synthesis, place-and-route, extraction, simulation (SPICE, mixed-signal), PDK management, characterization
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, Make, or equivalent
• Comfort working in Linux environments
• Knowledge of hardware architectures for AI, emerging technologies, or chiplet design is desirable
• Strong interest in software quality and validation: testing, metrics, reproducibility, documentation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-site, multidisciplinary teams
• Fluency in French and good technical English for partner exchanges and report writing
• Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply

Location: Ecully, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France with occasional travel to partner sites
