Accountant Senior

Worldpay is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team at multiple locations. This full-time position offers the opportunity to take on greater responsibility within our dynamic, growing payment solutions company.

About the Role

As a Senior Accountant at Worldpay, you'll play a key part in managing our accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You'll supervise day-to-day accounting activities, mentor junior team members, and contribute to strategic financial initiatives that support our business growth across our international operations.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account maintenance
• Review and approve accounting transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and variance analyses for management review
• Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures with attention to accuracy and timeliness
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation
• Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed
• Train and guide junior accounting staff on best practices and system procedures
• Identify process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency

Who We're Looking For

• An accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent professional designation
• At least 5+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or senior capacity
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and financial systems
• Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards and practice
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach across departments
• Proactive problem-solver with sound judgement and initiative
