Project Engineer (Senior / Staff) – Power & Automation

Williams is seeking a Project Engineer (Senior / Staff) – Power & Automation to drive complex project delivery across multiple sites. This is a full-time opportunity based in one of our 3 strategic locations.

The Opportunity

As a Senior or Staff-level Project Engineer focused on Power & Automation, you'll own the end-to-end delivery of critical infrastructure and automation initiatives. This role positions you to lead technical strategy, mentor engineering teams, and establish best practices that shape our operational excellence. You'll partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust solutions that drive efficiency and reliability across our power and automation systems.

Core Duties

• Lead project planning, design, and execution for power systems and automation deployments
• Develop and implement technical specifications, system architectures, and control strategies
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and business teams to identify optimization opportunities
• Conduct technical reviews, validate system performance, and ensure quality standards are met
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across project teams
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and recommend process improvements

Who We're Looking For

• Advanced expertise in power systems, automation, controls, or related engineering discipline
• 7+ years of progressive project engineering experience, with 3+ years in a senior or lead capacity
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects from conception through commissioning
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices in power and automation
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with engineering design tools, simulation software, or control systems platforms
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred for applicable locations
