About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization in their search for a Director, Compensation. This senior leadership position will drive compensation strategy, governance, and program design across the enterprise. The role is remote-friendly with a preference for candidates based in Nashville, TN.
We're seeking a strategic compensation leader who can partner with executive stakeholders, develop market-competitive programs, and lead a high-performing team. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape compensation philosophy and frameworks at scale within a growing healthcare services organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee enterprise compensation philosophy, market positioning, and long-term strategy
- Lead broad-based compensation programs including salary structures, annual planning cycles, and retention initiatives
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leaders on compensation decisions, workforce investments, and policy matters
- Maintain job architecture standards including job families, career levels, salary bands, and role classifications
- Oversee annual incentive programs, sales compensation, executive pay, and other variable compensation structures
- Review and approve significant job structure changes, leveling decisions, and classification updates
- Partner with cross-functional leaders on organization design, workforce planning, and career framework development
- Conduct pay equity reviews and ensure compensation programs remain competitive, equitable, and compliant
- Support business growth initiatives including acquisitions, integrations, and expansion efforts as needed
- Lead and develop the compensation team to deliver excellent service and strategic insights
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of progressive compensation experience, including enterprise-level program management
- Demonstrated experience developing compensation strategy, governance frameworks, salary structures, and incentive programs
- Proven track record managing job architecture, pay equity initiatives, and market pricing analysis
- Experience preparing and presenting compensation recommendations to senior leaders and executive audiences
- Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience building and developing compensation teams
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field required
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with physician services, international compensation, or acquisition integration is a plus
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM, HRCI, or related certification preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into strategic recommendations
