About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fire protection systems organization in Gladbeck, Germany. Our client seeks an experienced project leader to take full technical and commercial responsibility for water-based fire suppression systems from initial planning through final handover.
This is a permanent, full-time position for a professional who combines technical expertise in sprinkler and water suppression installations with strong project management capabilities. You'll work primarily from the office with occasional site visits, coordinating across design, installation, and client teams.
Responsibilities
- Assume complete technical and commercial accountability for water-based fire suppression projects
- Manage scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance from engineering through final acceptance
- Coordinate technical details with clients, consulting engineers, authorities, and technical assessors
- Handle change order management and project invoicing
- Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, guidelines (VdS, VOB/B), and workplace safety requirements
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, particularly design engineering and installation supervision teams
- Review as-built documentation and support final client acceptance procedures
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Completed technical training as a Technical System Planner or Technical Draftsperson
- Additional qualification as a Technician, Master Craftsperson, or technical degree (e.g., building services engineering, mechanical engineering) preferred
- Demonstrated experience as a project leader or design engineer in water-based fire suppression systems
- Alternatively, several years in fire suppression environments, such as service technician roles
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- German language skills at C1 level
- Class B driving license and willingness to travel occasionally for overnight assignments
Preferred:
- Knowledge of VdS regulations (particularly CEA 4001) and VOB/B standards
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit
