About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Senior Director of Sales. Our client is a trusted provider of workforce compliance solutions serving healthcare employers across the United States. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, sales execution, and team performance in a PE-backed environment with significant growth objectives.
This leader will oversee an employer-focused sales team of 8 direct reports, converting a demand-responsive organization into a demand-creating commercial engine. You'll own the full revenue plan, territory coverage strategy, pipeline creation, forecast accuracy, and team performance—including immediate performance interventions where needed.
Responsibilities
- Carry the complete employer revenue plan and close any gaps between assigned quotas and board commitments
- Transform the sales team from inbound-focused to self-originated pipeline generation, establishing per-rep pipeline creation floors
- Ensure every named account has a documented disposition (advance, nurture, or close out) with no "dark" territories
- Own forecast accuracy as a personal metric with quarter-by-quarter defensible precision
- Specify and drive delivery of stage-based selling materials in partnership with Marketing, escalating delays rather than absorbing gaps
- Address underperformance directly and on timeline, including documented performance plans and exit decisions where required
- Design and implement a complete weekly operating cadence including deal reviews, pipeline inspection, forecast calls, and territory reviews
- Build sales processes that work for methodical, detail-oriented sellers as well as naturally competitive hunters
- Lead with visible energy and confidence in a fast-paced, board-visible PE environment
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive B2B SaaS or healthcare technology sales experience with complex, multi-threaded enterprise sales cycles
- 3+ years leading quota-carrying teams in enterprise environments
- Proven track record building outbound, seller-originated pipelines in teams that weren't previously doing so
- Deep healthcare fluency: understanding of healthcare buying personas, workforce operations, clinical workflows, and multi-stakeholder sales processes
- Enterprise selling experience into hospitals and health systems with command of HRIS and EMR considerations
- Direct experience building weekly operating cadence, deal reviews, and forecast processes from scratch
- Track record of specifying and landing stage-based sales content and enablement with Marketing partners
- History of addressing underperformance directly, including exiting sellers when required
- Personal ownership of forecast accuracy with a quarter-by-quarter track record you can describe and defend
- Ability to construct business cases for hospital leadership; solutions sales background
- Process design skills for structured sellers, not just high-energy hunters
- Comfort operating in PE-backed environments with board-level visibility and short reporting cycles
Bonus qualifications: Clinical, nursing, nurse informatics, or healthcare operations background; experience with channel and co-sell motions; experience launching new modules into existing customer bases during core motion rebuilds.
This role may not be the right fit if: You're seeking a purely strategic seat, need fully pre-built enablement infrastructure, prefer maintaining inbound funnels over building outbound pipelines, or require a completely mapped 90-day plan on day one.
