DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy in their search for an experienced DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps Engineer to join their team remotely from Latin America. Our client is expanding their technical operations and needs a skilled infrastructure professional who can take ownership of complex cloud environments and drive reliability, security, and operational excellence.

This is a fully remote role based in Mexico, offering the opportunity to work with modern AWS technologies on challenging, high-impact projects serving multiple client environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Operate and optimize production database environments including Aurora/PostgreSQL with multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and performance monitoring
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with robust deployment automation and tested rollback procedures
• Manage containerized applications using Docker and AWS ECS/Fargate
• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using tools like OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch
• Conduct load testing and maintain services against latency SLOs and error budgets
• Execute security best practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance hardening
• Support SOC 2 audit evidence collection and respond to client security reviews
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and conduct thorough root-cause analysis
• Operate secure multi-tenant environments and support database migrations

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services: ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3
• Production experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL including failover management and replica lag monitoring
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Containerization and orchestration experience with Docker and ECS/Fargate
• Track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with deployment automation
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling
• Load testing experience using k6 or similar tools
• Security-first mindset with hands-on vulnerability scanning and compliance experience
• SOC 2 or similar audit support experience
• Incident response and on-call experience with root-cause analysis capabilities
• Background working with large, complex distributed systems
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required
• Extreme ownership mentality with meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term archival for compliance retention
• Multi-tenant security implementation experience (e.g., PostgreSQL Row-Level Security)
• Database migration tooling and schema evolution experience
• Background in compliance-sensitive domains such as fintech or telecom
