Working Student – AI Process & Business Excellence (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-growing renewable energy technology client in their search for a Working Student focused on AI Process & Business Excellence. In this role, you will analyze how work gets done across the organization and identify opportunities to make operations faster, more cost-effective, and less manual through intelligent automation.

Your responsibilities will be divided into three core areas:

• Process Analysis: Map and review existing business processes across multiple markets and functions including Sales, Service, Finance, and People Operations. Conduct user interviews with stakeholders, document current-state workflows, and measure cycle times, handoffs, and manual touchpoints. Benchmark job roles against market standards to identify optimization opportunities. Deliver data-driven insights, not assumptions.
• Automation Delivery: Build and implement the improvements you identify using the client's existing toolset including n8n, Google Workspace/AppScript, APIs, and AI platforms. For smaller cases, you'll develop solutions in-house. For complex processes, you'll collaborate with technical experts to scope, specify, and deliver larger automations. Test your work and measure actual impact.
• AI Enablement: Educate colleagues on practical AI applications and workflow improvements. Run enablement sessions, build and refine prompts and internal AI assistants for specific teams, gather feedback to improve tooling, and contribute to broader AI adoption initiatives across the employee base.

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled at a university in Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration with technical focus, or comparable field for the entire duration of the contract
• Available approximately 20 hours per week during the semester
• Practical experience with process analysis, process modeling (e.g., BPMN), or operational improvement work from internships, working student roles, or university projects
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for real work applications—you can demonstrate what you've actually built or automated
• Experience with or strong willingness to learn no-code/low-code automation platforms such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar
• Basic scripting ability in Python, JavaScript/AppScript, or similar languages, plus comfort working with APIs and structured data
• Strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills—you can interpret datasets and extract meaningful insights
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interview non-technical colleagues, understand their processes, and explain technical solutions in accessible language
• Structured, self-directed working style—you solve problems independently and organize your own workload
• Business-level English communication required; German is a significant plus
• Based in or around Berlin or Hamburg with willingness to travel occasionally
