About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential SaaS client seeking a Deal Desk Senior Manager to lead the transformation of their commercial operations function. This is a strategic leadership role based in London, offering the rare opportunity to rebuild a Deal Desk function from the ground up while personally running point on the organization's most complex, high-value deals.
Our client is a rapidly scaling platform trusted by thousands of companies worldwide. They're investing heavily in modernizing how their Sales organization structures, prices, and closes deals—and they need an exceptional leader to turn that vision into reality.
Responsibilities
As Senior Deal Desk Manager, you will:
- Lead the transformation: Rebuild the Deal Desk operating model to focus on complex deal structuring and pricing strategy rather than manual administrative work. Define what the team should own versus automate or hand off to other functions.
- Build and lead the team: Develop Deal Desk professionals while personally handling the most strategic, complex deals. Model best-in-class deal structuring, negotiation support, and stakeholder management.
- Own pricing governance: Structure non-standard commercial deals, balancing risk with velocity. Partner with Legal, Finance, Sales Operations, and Product to unblock deals quickly.
- Manage CPQ end-to-end: Own the relationship with the CPQ platform, drive configuration improvements, and optimize quoting workflows so Sales can move faster with confidence.
- Drive automation and AI: Own the automation roadmap with a mandate to eliminate manual, repetitive work. Prioritize high-impact workflows like company setup, payment profile processing, and post-signature provisioning. Evaluate AI tools for contract review, NDA triage, and deal risk flagging.
- Protect the business: Act as first line of defense on contract redlines and non-standard terms. Own commercial governance frameworks, pricing policy, and approval structures.
- Build performance infrastructure: Establish metrics and reporting to track deal velocity, team output, and the impact of process improvements over time.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate brings:
- Strong Deal Desk experience within B2B SaaS, ideally spanning mid-market and enterprise segments
- Proven leadership: Track record leading a Deal Desk or commercial/sales operations team with direct people management responsibility
- Coach-player capability: Comfortable personally running complex, high-value deals while simultaneously leading and developing a team
- CPQ ownership: Prior experience owning a complex CPQ platform with measurable improvements to quoting, pricing, and deal velocity
- Automation and AI experience: Track record scoping and delivering automation or AI initiatives that reduce manual operational work, ideally partnering with engineering or systems teams
- Cross-functional excellence: Strong stakeholder management skills across Legal, Finance, Sales Operations, and Product
- Comfort with ambiguity: Ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment where processes are still being defined and improved
