About This Opportunity
We are representing a fast-growing European SaaS company that is establishing its presence in London. Our client specializes in enterprise automation technology and serves a global customer base including Fortune 500 organizations. They are backed by tier-one investors and are scaling their UK operations rapidly.
We are seeking an Applied AI Engineer to take full ownership of building AI-powered internal tools that will transform operational workflows across hiring, finance, and business operations. This is a high-impact role where you will work directly with leadership to deploy cutting-edge AI solutions that create measurable efficiency gains.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered internal tools on rapid timelines (days to weeks)
- Evaluate and integrate the latest AI models, APIs, and frameworks including LLMs, agent frameworks, and embedding pipelines into production-ready solutions
- Create automation tools that scale impact across the entire organization
- Write clean, maintainable code that integrates seamlessly with existing systems including APIs, databases, and third-party services
- Own the complete deployment lifecycle: build, test, ship, and monitor solutions with reliability and minimal maintenance overhead
- Collaborate with non-technical teams to identify pain points and transform them into elegant automated solutions
What We're Looking For
- Technical background with proven experience shipping real products (formal CS degree, bootcamp, or self-taught)
- Hands-on experience building with modern AI tooling including LLMs, AI coding assistants, and workflow automation platforms
- Startup or entrepreneurial experience—you have founded something, built critical internal infrastructure, or created solutions that became widely adopted
- Ability to move quickly, communicate clearly, and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong learning agility with new tools and frameworks
- Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus
- Bonus: familiarity with automation and workflow tools, though ability to learn quickly is more important than specific tool experience
