About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential language services organization seeking a Remote Hmong Medical Interpreter based in Lao People's Democratic Republic. This is a 100% remote position offering flexible scheduling with opportunities for both full-time and part-time engagement.

As a Medical Interpreter, you will provide accurate simultaneous and consecutive interpretation services, enabling effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. You'll ensure proper use of medical terminology while facilitating culturally appropriate exchanges in critical healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional interpretation services via OPI (Over-the-Phone Interpretation) and VRI (Video Remote Interpretation) platforms
• Perform simultaneous and consecutive interpreting between Hmong and English
• Maintain accuracy in medical terminology and context
• Facilitate clear, culturally sensitive communication in medical environments
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant practices throughout all interactions
• Be available for scheduled appointments and on-demand interpretation sessions
• Maintain high standards of listening, note-taking, and memory retention

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 3 months of professional interpretation experience (must be clearly documented on your resume)
• Language Skills: Native or near-native fluency in both Hmong and English
• Specialization: Proven expertise in medical interpretation
• Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts including 24/7 availability windows
• Technical Setup: Professional home office with HIPAA-compliant environment
• Equipment: Wired USB headset with noise cancellation capabilities
• Internet: Minimum 10 Mbps upload speed and 20 Mbps download speed
• Professional Skills: Strong listening comprehension, note-taking abilities, and excellent memory retention
