About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare services organization seeking remote Medical Billers & Coders to join their growing team. This independent contractor position offers flexibility and the opportunity to support healthcare providers with critical billing and coding functions from anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims accurately and efficiently to insurance carriers
• Review patient charts and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal team members as needed
• Manage denied or unpaid claims, identify issues, and resubmit when necessary
• Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure full HIPAA compliance in all activities

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous medical billing and/or coding experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with EHR or billing platforms (such as Kareo, AdvancedMD, Athenahealth, or similar systems)
• Basic understanding of insurance processes and medical terminology
• Medical billing or coding certification is a plus (CPC, CBCS, or equivalent)
