We are representing a well-established professional services firm based in Australia that provides comprehensive accounting, tax advisory, and financial services to individuals and small-to-medium enterprises. Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant with deep expertise in Australian taxation and compliance to join their remote team.

This is a remote independent contractor position ideal for Philippines-based candidates who want to work with an Australian client while maintaining the flexibility of contractor arrangements. You'll be expected to align with Australian business hours for collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

As Financial Accountant, you will:

• Prepare financial statements for various entity structures including companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders
• Ensure all work complies with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes with thorough documentation
• Prepare and review Income Tax Returns, Company Tax Returns, Trust Returns, and Business Activity Statements
• Manage FBT, PAYG, and other compliance lodgements in accordance with ATO requirements
• Maintain clear communication regarding missing information, deadlines, and job progress
• Collaborate with senior accountants and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality
• Manage workflows through practice management systems and maintain accurate client records
• Ensure bookkeeping data is reconciled and clean prior to preparing financial reports
• Identify potential tax issues and escalate appropriately

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Australian tax and accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of Australian tax regulations and ATO compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software
• Experience using Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively

Preferred Experience:

• Background working with Australian public practice firms
• Exposure to diverse entity structures and complex group arrangements
• Independent preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $2,500 - $3,000 AUD per month
