Competitive Programming Expert – Freelance AI Trainer

Overview

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization that is building training infrastructure for advanced coding models. Our client needs competitive-programming specialists to create algorithmic problems, solutions, and robust test suites that form the foundation of their AI training pipeline.

This is a project-based freelance role based in Egypt. You will work remotely, designing original contest-style problems and the grading systems that ensure AI models learn from trustworthy signals.

Responsibilities

• Write original algorithmic problems with clear statements, sound constraints, and intended solutions
• Implement correct reference solutions in C++ and Python
• Create realistic incorrect solutions that demonstrate common programming mistakes
• Build comprehensive test suites including generators, edge cases, stress tests, and adversarial inputs
• Write checkers and interactors for problems with multiple valid answers
• Validate that correct solutions pass all tests within time limits while incorrect solutions fail appropriately

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Demonstrable competitive programming background with public profile (Codeforces, IOI, ICPC, or national olympiad)
• For Codeforces participants: minimum 1700 rating (Expert level) for associate-level work; 2200+ (Master) for expert-level; 2600+ (International Grandmaster) or IOI/ICPC medalist for senior/reviewer roles
• Fluency in competitive C++ including STL and complexity analysis
• Comfortable writing solutions in Python
• Ability to identify solution flaws and construct inputs that expose them
• Strong written English (C1 or higher proficiency)
• Submit your CV in English and indicate your English proficiency level

Preferred:

• IOI or ICPC alumni and top-ranked competitive programmers strongly encouraged
• Prior experience setting or testing problems for live contests (online rounds, olympiads, judges)
• Experience with testlib (checkers, validators, generators)
• Background creating evaluation datasets for language models or reinforcement learning systems

This is project-based work. During active project phases, tasks are estimated at 10–20 hours per week. This is an estimate, not a guarantee, and applies only while projects are running. All tasks have deadlines and must meet acceptance criteria to be approved for payment.

Pay

Compensation is per accepted task. Your rate depends on your qualification tier and task completion efficiency. Top performers can reach the equivalent of $90 USD per hour. Because payment is task-based rather than hourly, working faster increases your effective rate.
