About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential infrastructure construction organization in their search for a Senior Vice President of Finance. This is a high-impact executive role leading financial strategy and operations across a large, geographically diverse portfolio of construction projects. The SVP will report to the CFO and serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, driving financial performance, governance, and disciplined growth.

This position offers location flexibility within the Continental United States and requires up to 50% travel to support operations and strengthen business partnerships across the organization.

Responsibilities

As SVP of Finance, you will provide executive leadership across the following areas:

  • Serve as a core member of the finance leadership team and participate in strategy development and execution
  • Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting, and operating reviews
  • Oversee timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting, ensuring SOX compliance and proper accounting policy implementation
  • Manage revenue recognition processes, including percentage-of-completion accounting for construction contracts
  • Drive rigorous project financial management and risk mitigation processes to enhance job-level profitability and margin performance
  • Support bid reviews and pricing decisions to improve win quality and risk-adjusted returns
  • Lead finance operations transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations and business system deployments
  • Oversee integration of finance teams, systems, and processes following acquisitions
  • Develop strategic talent planning initiatives and build succession plans across key finance roles
  • Mentor and coach high-performing finance leaders across business units

In your first 12 months, you will establish credibility with operational and executive leadership, develop comprehensive understanding of project economics and reporting structures, identify critical finance transformation priorities, improve forecasting reliability, strengthen internal controls, and elevate talent capabilities across the finance organization.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Education:

  • 10+ years of senior financial management experience in a large, geographically dispersed infrastructure EPC or industrial construction organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • CPA or CA designation preferred
  • Experience within a large, publicly traded organization strongly preferred

Essential Skills and Expertise:

  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing finance teams in complex, publicly traded, growth-oriented environments
  • Experience overseeing Joint Venture operations, project-based accounting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Proven track record leading finance transformation initiatives, ERP implementations, and post-acquisition finance integrations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong business acumen with ability to translate financial insights into strategic and operational decision-making
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Outstanding executive presence with excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to analyze complex business, financial, operational, and regulatory issues and deliver practical solutions
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
