About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential cloud services organization that partners with major cloud platforms to deliver complex technical solutions. We're seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their growing remote team in Mexico. This role offers the chance to work on production services at scale while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and scale production services and server infrastructure across multiple data centers for cloud-based platforms
  • Enhance software architecture to improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance
  • Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at scale as a software engineer focused on operations
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications integrate seamlessly within infrastructure with scalability and reliability built in from the start
  • Partner with QA on building CI/CD pipelines and automation for application delivery and deployment
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, formulate theories, test hypotheses, and identify root causes
  • Write postmortem reviews and remediation recommendations
  • Identify negative trends before they escalate; respond to automated alerts and troubleshoot system errors to restore normal operations
  • Author and maintain high-quality documentation of specifications, systems, and procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related discipline
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Experience with cluster creation and management through Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud services including virtual machines and network configuration
  • Understanding of design patterns including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and practices
  • Scripting knowledge with PowerShell
  • Strong understanding of IP addressing and subnet masking
  • Ability to program using one or more high-level languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, or JavaScript
  • Experience with distributed storage technologies such as NFS, HDFS, Ceph, and Amazon S3
  • Familiarity with dynamic resource management frameworks like Apache Mesos, Kubernetes, or Yarn
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
